A New Chapter‘s Questions for Me

1. If you were a colour, which colour would you be and why?

I suppose saying ‘rainbow-coloured’ would be a über cop out here so I think I’d say blue – it can totally vary from a thoughtful, deep marine to a bold, bright sapphire to a soft pastel turquoise. I am all of these colours at once!

Not to mention I have an awful lot of blue in my wardrobe 😂

2. Imagine you can time travel, would you go to the future or to the past?

Both, if possible… I would totally go to the future, find out the lottery numbers and go back to win it haha 😉

But genuinely, the future would be so exciting because there wouldn’t be any nasty diseases; they might not be surprised to see a time-travelling human; the technology would be mind-boggling and they would have more to teach me!

Assuming that the world is still around in the future…

3. Which song best describes you/your emotions?

Interesting question – I think the songs that I listen to now are mostly for fun and don’t completely describe my emotions. Especially now I’m at uni, I have no time to listen to music, it’s that hectic! There’s one that really resonated with me over summer though:

I listened to this all summer! I love the vibe – there’s a really laid-back but nostalgic quality which is basically what I was feeling because it was amazing having no set work… At the same time, I missed my friends (who were jetting off all over the place) and, in a deeper sense, my childhood.

I was also trying to push the boundaries for myself – challenging myself to go for a run every day, learn new stuff (like Mandarin and learning to drive) and getting back to work on my blog… This song really got me in the mood for pushing myself!

4. If you could have any eye colour, what would you choose?

I think having green eyes is what most people would wish for, but green would really not go with my hair (which is jet black haha) so maybe something funky like purple?

5. Would you rather read people’s minds or be invisible?

I’m assuming that you would be able to switch both powers off and on… Being invisible all the time would be no fun 😉

I think reading other people’s minds would be pretty awesome but a little bit invasive so if other people found out, they might not trust you as much because it would definitely be a bit creepy. Reading people’s minds would be a godsend for someone like me though – I’m so awkward that any help in a social setting would be great!

(Also partly because I’m good at being invisible around people, I already have that power 😉😭 )

6. If you could have dinner with any TV show/book/film character, who would it be?

Sherlock would be fascinating but an awful dinner companion so maybe I’d go with Stephen Hawking (watch The Theory of Everything if you haven’t already!) Then I get to talk with Stephen Hawking AND Eddie Redmayne… And who wouldn’t love that?

7. Did a historical event happen on your birthday? (doesn’t have to be the year you were born)

Ngl I did a little search on BBC’s On This Day and it turns out the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin re-opened in 1989 for the first time in nearly 30 years – thank goodness it did, as it symbolised the reunification of Germany’s East and West!

Eclipsed Words‘ Questions for Me

1. What inspired you to start a blog and why?

My first post explains my reasons, but basically, I decided to start a blog in a moment of inspiration/procrastination. I needed some sort of outlet for my thoughts, where they could be recorded indefinitely.

2. Which is that one wish you want to fulfil in this lifetime?

I want to leave this world a better place than when I came. I’d love to create something that will leave a positive, lasting impact on people!

3. What is your one favourite childhood memory?

It’s strange because even though I’m almost one year into my adulthood (eek!) I still consider myself a child in many ways…

It was actually really hard to think up one specific childhood memory – I was thinking about writing about when I went to Army Camp in the summer of ’15.

However, I’d probably say my favourite childhood memory is when I went on Gold DofE in the summer of ’16 – the experience of leading a team, organising the routes, and planning everything was when I felt in my element; not to mention the breathtaking views, funny stories, bonding time and sense of achievement at the end!

4. What hopes do you have for your blog?

I started this blog without any hopes, but I’ve got to be honest that reading other people’s blogs has given me some blog jealousy (how can someone’s blog look so perfect?!)

I had a phase of really wishing I could make money out of my blog, but I realised that maybe sticking to a mediocre blog might allow me to express myself more genuinely.

Right now, I don’t really care if my blog grows or not – it’s helped me grow and that has been enough.

5. Which genre of movies you enjoy the most and a movie which left an impression on your heart?

I like documentary films like The Theory of Everything (see above) and Les Intouchables but the movie that has left an impression on my heart has to be Les Choristes. I love the soundtrack too!

6. Where are you from?

I’ve gotten a lot of this question over the past few weeks xD

I start off by saying I’m from SE London, and then some nosy/interested people ask where my parents are from and I say SE China.

7. What according to you is a happy place?

My room when I’m doing my own stuff, uninterrupted; going on a walk with my friend(s); a shopping mall where there are very few people but lots of sales.
