Tackling Racism With Haiku

I read Mintie Freshie’s haiku to tackle racism, and I was keen to find out more about this movement.  I was inspired by Gracie’s campaign to tackle racism with haikus.  Here is my small contribution to this movement!

He saw a hijab –

“You don’t belong here” he spat.

Sorry mate, you don’t.

Based on a true story.

Hope you enjoyed it!  Do leave me some feedback, this is only the second time I’ve written poetry for you guys to read.  Feel free to check out Gracie’s post for details on how to join this great movement!

  1. Hi Jess! Thanks for getting involved! It means so much. I really loved your haiku, you should post poetry more often! I have actually just launched a writing competition over on my blog and wondered if you would like to enter something? I’d love it if you would.
